Future Possibilities

Everyone has been talking about trade possibilities this year, and how about the Nuggets trading Nene for David Lee. Lee is averaging 19 pts and 11 rebounds, while having been in the league for 4 years now. Nene on the other hand is averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds per game, while having been in the league for 7 years now. Although Nene hasn't played 7 full years in the NBA due to injury, I don't see his game progressing much throughout the rest of his career. Lee on the other hand has only been in the for 4 years, and I can see his game getting much better. He has a big up side. Now the reasons why and why not are brought up.

Why the Nuggets & Knicks do it: Nene struggles to finish easy layups, and isn't the greatest rebounder for his size (6'11", 250 lbs.) Nene should be averaging at least 10 Rebounds per game, which might make people think that he's lazy. Also, some nights its just as if Nene isn't there. Nene only has 11 games with 10+ rebounds, while he has 7 games with 6 or fewer rebounds. I'm pretty sure Petro could have 6 or more rebounds any given night given the amount of time Nene plays. Lee has 17 games with 10+ rebounds (including 9 games with 14+), while he only has 3 games with 6 or fewer rebounds. He's a much more consistent rebounder, something the Nuggets could use. The Nuggets also do it because Lee is a consistent low post scorer, while Nene gets a fair share of his points on the break, something that fits perfectly into D'Antoni's system. The only reason I don't think he Knicks would do it is because of Nene's contract (over 10.5+ million the next 3 years), while Lee's is only 7 mil this year and then it expires.

I'm not in favor of Lee or Nene, I'm just listing possibilities.

Finally, this is kinda a fantasy situation but imagine if we didn't resign GK, and we made Dantley or someone else the coach for the next two years, or until Chauncey is done playing. Then, once Chauncey retires as a player, we sign him to be our head coach. There's no doubt in my mind that all players among the league respect Billups, and to me thats the main constant among all great coaches, their players RESPECT them. Chauncey also appears to know more about basketball than Karl, and I think his composure and his knowledge for the game of basketball would make him a great coach. Lol I'm not saying it would happen, it's just a possibility.

Anyways, your thoughts would be appreciated.
