The Nuggets trade chatter is hotter then ever. Everyday we're hearing Jeff Foster, Jeff Foster. Problem is, Foster hasn't been doing too well this season. He's appeared in only 16 games and has averaged a measly 3.1 ppg and 5.1 rpg. Not exactly filling up the stat sheet. The Pacers are ready to sell and they're ready to move both Foster and Troy Murphy. So why not go after Murphy?

Size: Foster (32 years old) is listed at 6'11 250 lb, Murphy (29 years old) is listed at 6'11 245 lbs

Stats: Foster (in 16 games) avgs: 15.9 mpg 3.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg 0.3 bpg, shoots around 48%

Murphy (in 28 games) avgs: 31.4 mpg 14.1 ppg, 9.6 rpg 0.7 bpg, shoots around 49% and 41% 3pt

Contracts: Here's the downside Foster makes a little more then 6 million for this and next year whereas Murphy makes over 11 million for this and next year

Its not impossible to work up a scenario for a trade.

Den- Sends JR Smith, Renaldo Balkman and Malik Allen

or

Ind- Sends Troy Murphy and Solomon Jones

Den- Sends Nene and Johan Petro

Personally I like the first trade better and it seems more likely. I don't think Indiana is trying to add any more payroll, rather they are trying to lose some. It doesn't make much sense to give up Murphy and get Nene back (whose contract is a million cheaper but runs a year longer). Also, it leaves Denver with no real option at center. With the first trade we get a quality big who not only rebounds as good as any, but also would replace JR's production and range. Aj price is a young 2 guard with a lot of upside. I do question whether Murphy is tough enough to bang with the likes of LA.
