J.R. Smith Suspened 7 Games

I find this absolutely ridiculous. How much does a man have to do before he is forgiven for reckless driving? I believe that he has endured enough.

First, J.R. Smith got a month in jail. I've never spent a month in jail and i don't plan on it. I think most of us believe that going to jail for a month of your life is already quite the consequence. Being in a barred room and only being allowed an hour outside sounds like living in hell.

Second, Smith lost his best friend. J.R. had no intentions that morning thinking, "I'm going to drive recklessly and kill my closest friend. A friend from my childhood." I don't know about all you people reading this, but the loss of a loved one is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose your best friend, and know it was you're own fault. I think it's amazing and very courageous for Smith's friend's mother to accept J.R.'s apology. She must be a strong woman.

I think J.R. has endured enough pain. I think the NBA is kicking him while he's already down. I drive recklessly with my friends in the car sometimes, with the music blasting and speeding a little bit, but I never have the intention of hurting anyone. I don't agree with the suspension. Jason Richardson was only suspended two games for driving under the influence. I believe this is much more dangerous than driving recklessly. This is just a case of J.R. being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He didn't have any bad intentions. Give the man a break

P.S. - I'm not saying it's okay to drive recklessly, but give J.R. a break. He has been through enough punishment. I don't see why the NBA insists on suspending him. They've already gotten their point across.
