Hoopsworld free agent update

Pretty much the full list of quality free agents remaining and the latest rumors on where they might head.

Wally Szczerbiak: He seems to be a lock to land in Denver for the veterans' minimum or the Nuggets' bi-annual exception. Either way, the deal will most likely be for one year. Much has been written about Szczerbiak's supposed decline, but he is still a premiere 3-point shooter (he finished 23rd in the NBA in 3-point percentage) and he's a playoff veteran. The Nuggets may have found an inexpensive replacement for Linas Kleiza.
David Lee: The New York Post's Marc Berman and HOOPSWORLD's Steve Kyler have each suggested that it's only a matter of time before Lee inks a one-year deal with the Knicks. We know it will be more for more money than the one-year tender but don't expect the contract to reach the eight figures Agent Mark Bartelstein was looking for.
Allen Iverson: Iverson tweeted, "If you think that I am just going away-Think again! I am getting ready for the NBA season. Waiting for the call. Charlotte, Miami, NY."

One thing that is clear is that Memphis is no longer an option.

Iverson may not have a deal in hand when the season starts, but the first team to lose a star to injury should be dialing his number. There hasn't been any confirmed activity recently concerning Iverson, but don't be shocked to see Washington interested if Randy Foye and/or Gilbert Arenas aren't 100% healthy.

Charlotte might be the best bet right now, particularly if Iverson can reduce his asking price below the full mid-level exception.
Ronald Murray: HOOPSWORLD's Steve Kyler mentioned the possibility of him coming to Miami, which makes lot of sense. Murray was a bargain for the Hawks last season and will go for well-under the mid-level exception. Murray also has the advantage of having played in a plethora of schemes and has the ability to adapt his game to any team.
