NBA Offseason Moves (constant update)

We've seen a flurry of deals already this summer and I expect a lot more to come with the Free Agency period now open. So, let's keep track of the offseason moves as they happen here.

June 2009:

  1. The Toronto Raptors trade Jason Kapono to the Philadelphia 76'ers for Reggie Evans.
  2. San Antonio Spurs trade Fabricio Oberto, Kurt Thomas, and Bruce Bowen to the Milwaukee Bucks for Richard Jefferson.
  3. The Minnesota Timberwolves trade Randy Foye and Mike Miller to the Washington Wizards for the No. 5 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, Etan Thomas, Darius Songaila, and Oleksiy Pecherov.
  4. The Detroit Pistons trade Amir Johnson to the Milwaukee Bucks for Fabricio Oberto.
  5. The Golden State Warriors trade Jamal Crawford to the Atlanta Hawks for Speedy Claxton and Acie Law.
  6. The Cleveland Cavaliers trade Sasha Pavlovic, Ben Wallace, and the 46th pick in the 2009 draft to the Phoenix Suns for Shaquille O'Neal.
  7. The New Jersey Nets trade Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson to the Orlando Magic for Rafer Alston, Courtney Lee, and Tony Battie.
  8. The Sacramento Kings traded the rights of forward Jeff Pendergraph to the Portland Trail Blazers for Sergio Rodriguez, the rights to Jon Brockman and cash.
  9. The New York Knicks trade Quentin Richardson to the Memphis Grizzlies for Darko Milicic.

July 2009:

  1. The Los Angeles Clippers trade forward Zach Randolph to the Memphis Grizzlies for shooting guard Quentin Richardson.
  2. The Detroit Pistons agree to terms with shooting guard Ben Gordan and forward Charlie Villanueva.
  3. The Dallas Mavericks sign center Marcin Gortat to a contract sheet. The Orlando Magic will now have 7 days to match the offer since Gortat is a restricted free agent. Update: Orlando matches the Dallas deal and keeps Gortat.
  4. The Los Angeles Lakers signed forward Ron Artest to a 3-year deal for a reported $18 million.
  5. The Houston Rockets signed forward Trevor Ariza to a 5-year $33.5 million contract.
  6. The Dallas Mavericks signed point guard Jason Kidd to a 3-year $25 million contract.
  7. The Los Angeles Lakers signed guard Shannon Brown to a 2-year $4.2 million contract.
  8. The Atlanta Hawks signed point guard Mike Bibby to a 3-year $18 million contract.
  9. The Denver Nuggets re-signed center/power forward Chris "Birdman" Andersen to a 5-year $26 million contract.
  10. The Dallas Mavericks signed shooting guard Quinton Ross.
  11. The Dallas Mavericks traded for forward Shawn Marion, forward Kris Humphries, Nathan Jawai, cash considerations (from Toronto), and guard Greg Buckner (from Memphis). The Memphis Grizzlies traded for a future 2nd Round Draft pick (from Toronto), guard Jerry Stackhouse, and cash considerations (from Dallas). The Toronto Raptors traded for forward Hedo Turkoglu (really a free agent signing from Orlando), forward Devean George, and shooting guard Antonie Wright (from Dallas). WHAT A MESS! Stackhouse is expected to be waived by the Grizzlies.
  12. The San Antonio Spurs signed free agent power forward Antonio McDyess to a 3-year $15 million contract.
  13. The Indiana Pacers signed former Denver Nugget shooting guard Dahntay Jones to a 4-year $11 million contract.
  14. The Cleveland Cavaliers signed free agent power forward Anderson Varejao to a 6-year $50 million contract.
  15. The Cleveland Cavaliers signed free agent shooting guard Anthony Parker to an undisclosed contract.
  16. The Phoenix Suns sign free agent forward/center Channing Frye to a one-year $2 million deal with a player option for a second year.
  17. The Phoenix Suns sign free agent forward Grant Hill to a one-year $3 million deal with a player option for a second year.
  18. The Orlando Magic signed free agent power forward Brandon Bass to a 4-year $18 million deal.
  19. The Denver Nuggets trade a future second round pick to the Detroit Pistons for guard Arron Afflalo, forward Walter Shape, and cash considerations.
  20. The Utah Jazz will match the 4-year $32 million contract on restricted free agent, power forward, Paul Millsap that was offered by the Portland Trail Blazers.
  21. The Detroit Pistons have signed power forward Chris Wilcox to a two-year $6 million contract.
  22. The Denver Nuggets acquire power forward Malik Allen from the Milwaukee Bucks for guard Sonny Weems and forward Walter Sharpe.
  23. The Orlando Magic sign small forwad Matt Barnes to a two-year $3.2 million deal.
  24. The Dallas Mavericks sign power forward Drew Gooden to a one-year $4.5 million deal.
  25. The Portland Trail Blazers sign point guard Andre Miller to a three-year $21 million deal.
  26. The Dallas Mavericks sign power forward Tim Thomas to a one-year $1.3 million deal.
  27. The New Orleans Hornets trade center Tyson Chandler to the Charlotte Bobcats for center Emeka Okafor.
  28. The New Orleans Hornets sign power forward Ike Diogu.
  29. The Los Angeles Lakers re-sign power forward Lamar Odom to a 4-year $33 million deal.

August 2009:

  1. The Minnesota Timberwolves signed restricted free agent center Ryan Hollins to a 3-year $7 million contract. The Dallas Mavericks will have seven days to match, but owner Mark Cuban wished Hollins luck in Minny via Twitter.
  2. Oklahoma City Thunder signed guard Kevin Ollie.
  3. Atlanta Hawks re-signed forward Marvin Williams to a 5-year contract.
  4. Boston Celtics signed power forward/center Shelden Williams.
  5. Boston Celtics re-signed power forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis.
  6. Philadelphia 76'ers re-signed guard Royal Ivey.
  7. Washington Wizards signed power forward/center Fabricio Oberto.
  8. Los Angeles Clippers acquired guard/forward Rasual Butler from the New Orleans Hornets for a 2016 conditional 2nd Round draft pick.
  9. Cleveland Cavaliers signed forward Leon Powe to a two-year deal.
  10. Denver Nuggets re-signed guard Anthony Carter to a one-year minimum contract.
  11. Milwaukee Bucks acquired forward Carlos Delfino and guard Roko Ukic from the Toronto Raptors for forward Amir Johnson and guard/forward Sonny Weems.
  12. Orlando Magic signed point guard Jason "White Chocolate" Williams.
  13. Atlanta Hawks signed forward Joe Smith.
  14. Denver Nuggets re-signed center Johan Petro.

September 2009:

  1. Boston Celtics signed guard Marquis Daniels.
  2. Atlanta Hawks signed center Jason Collins.
  3. Golden State Warriors signed power forward Mikki Moore.
  4. Dallas Mavericks re-signed forward James Singleton.
  5. Philadelpia 76'ers signed guard/forward Rodney Carney.
  6. Los Angeles Clippers re-signed power forward/center Brian Skinner.
  7. Sacramento Kings signed guard/forward Desmond Mason.
  8. Minnesota Timberwolves signed forward Sasha Pavlovic.
  9. Portland Trail Blazers signed forward Juwon Howard.
