I agree with Andrew Feinstein that there are good losses and bad losses. But the last loss of our beloved Denver Nuggets to the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves, who was on a 15-game losing streak, was unacceptable. Just consider the scenario going into the game itself:

(a) the Nuggets had been undefeated this season at the Pepsi Center and was riding on a 17-game winning streak at their homecourt starting from last season;

(b) the T-Wolves as earlier mentioned was on a 15-game losing streak after an opening-day win against the luckless New Jersey Nets;

(c) the Nuggets were really playing inspired ball this season having entered the game with a 12-4 slate, tops in the Northwest Division;

(d) they were coming off an emotional win against the New York Knicks where Carmelo Anthony scored a career-high 50 points;

(e) the Nuggets led after the 1st quarter by 15 points (40-25) and by 14 at halftime (64-50) and in their previous games this season, they usually turn on the heat in the second half but the opposite happened when they scored only 12 in the third quarter and 36 the whole second half;

(f) they did not play the previous night so they were fully rested.

No amount of reasoning would be acceptable or justifiable to describe this loss and except maybe for Anthony and Kenyon Martin, the rest of the Nuggets did not come to play that particular night after the first quarter.

Let's just hope that our dear Nuggets team would bounce back from this stinging loss and learn their lesson very well not to take any team for granted.
